Baron von Beefsnuggles

One of my University modules was to retopologise a high poly decimated 3D model. I decided to take this a bit further and set a game environment and practical pipeline for the rig and how it would be displayed. To this end, I thought purpose testing it would be a good way to demonstrate my thinking behind it and try to display the character in its intended environment.

In this case, it was a fictional 3D dating sim I devised for modiles, in particular a dating sim for bad guys. Baron von Beefsnuggles was created as a lovable menace and the rig created to be low poly with as few bones as possible to allow it to animate and render properly on common mobile devices, and with a focus on his upper body and facial expressions (with morph targets for his eyes, cheeks and head bobbly thing).

Note that I did not model or design the original character, record the sounds (or voice them) or implement any of the audio, as this was done by another audio student, Iain McLeod: iainmcleodaudio.com
